On 01.09.23 Swedish Hardrock Masters ECLIPSE released with „Megalomanium“ one of the best Metal Albums this year and start a German Tour together with H.E.A.T. I was lucky to meet Bassist Victor Crusher for an cool interview conversation just before their stunning show at the Zeche Bochum.

The new Album is a little bit more pop and hit orientated, the songs comes straight to the point. What can you say about the production and the inspiration for the album?

I think it is a bit more poppy for us, but also more heavy in certain parts, more punky in some ways and there is some folky stuff too. I is a mesh, more from everything that we`ve done in the past. It is what we wanted to do. We introduce a different kind of songwriting than before, our style of Rock`n Roll. We make so many songs for this records and choose 11 of them. The best songs make it, no matter if it is poppy or heavy. It must be good.

In the 80ties you have been millionaires with your music. How difficult is it to today for a Band like Eclipse to live from music?

It changes a lot, you make records to play live gigs. It is all about playing live, when we write songs we have always the live situation in mind. The making of money is in live music these days, selling merch and just play.

Your on tour with H.E.A.T., a perfect match I think. What can you say about the relationship between the bands?

We know the guys a long time, we are all from Stockholm. We have always been friends and it a good thing to do this tour together. Beeing on the road with friends is always great.

Why came so many great Hardrock Bands with outstanding musicians from Sweden? There must be something in the water or so.

In Sweden are many after school activities centers were you can learn instruments or play music together. Music has a very big status in Sweden. Many people play intruments or sing. It is in our blood.

How important is your record company for Eclipse, you are their best-selling streaming band. Are you fine with them and their work?

Yes, they do a great job for us. They take care of us and opens many doors.

What do you do on tour besides the concerts in the free times. Are you watching cities?

Sometimes we have no time for it, but we try to see as much as we can.

In the good old times of rock music it is all about Sex, Drugs and Rock`n Roll. In which way have it change or is it still the lifestyle?

For some people it is still so, for Eclipse it is never been about that and our lyrics are about other stuff. We followed the line of more melancholy and emotional, see songs like “Battlegrounds” or “The hardest part is losing you”. No party everyday, only sometimes.
