The Band „Ring of Fire“ with legendary singer Mark Boals release their fifth album “Gravity” these days. Time for an new interview with Mark Boals.
Congratulation on the new excellent Ring of Fire Album. What can you tell us about inspiration, songwriting and recording of it?
Thanks! I had been talking to Vitalij and we decided to make a new ROF album last year, I started out contacting possible members, firstly, Tony of course but he was not able to be onboard this time so we ended up with Aldo Lonobile, who is great and did a fantastic job. Aldo suggested to use Alfonso and Stefano to finish out the band for this album, and it came together nicely. Vitalij and I started writing songs and Aldo joined in also, and we ended up finishing all the recordings this spring, and have been anxiously waiting for the release.
How you find your musical partners for it and how do you work together on the songs?
We trade files back and forth until we are satisfied with compositions, then we record our parts.
Do you still have contact to your old music mate Yngwie Malmsteen and do you think of your time in his band?
I was in and out of that band from 1985-2001, and it was great fun musically, but there were problems that have been already discussed by me and other members previously, no need to go into that here…
Are there plans for live gigs in the future with the great new album?
Of course, we will try to play as many gigs as we can find!
The music business had bad times these days with all downloads and less sales. Can you live from the music or do other things to get along? Have you got any hobbies outside the Music?
I only do music, but I need to work day and night now to pay the bills.
Your voice is still powerful and crystal clear, what do you do to stay in this perfect shape?
I am thankfully and humbly blessed by God and I never stop singing every day no matter what.
Have you any message for your fans in Europe or something you like to say?
I hope everyone will spread the word about this new album and thanks to all my friends and fans for support which I cannot live without, seriously!!!
