This article series is about the tools of popular guitarists. What are their favorite guitars and how is it related to them? This time with Patrik Sandstroem
FENDER TELE 52 REISSUE
Used for many tours and events with different artists. Changed mics to vintage noiseless due to the original mics humming too much. Versatile guitar and works very well for different styles. Used it several times in Swedish television. When I had bought it, I lent it to a student at a rehearsal and he dropped it on the floor so it has a paint damage but a guitar should be a bit road worn.
The guitars that I use most at gigs etc. It has Fletcher Landau mics. The „egg position“ is fantastic with a clear tone but still with bite. A real LA guitar!
Gibson Gold Top 57 Custom
I use this guitar the most when I record and live in styles like rock and metal. Switches between original and EMG 81, 85 mics. With EMG, it becomes a very clear and gives a straight dist tone. You get a fat guitar sound that is controlled.
This guitar has been with me since 1990 and is my Jazz guitar. Have done many gigs in big bands and at jazz clubs but mainly through my studies in Jazz guitar. It has a fantastic sound and is very easy to play.
I also use it for blues gigs.
