When you start guitar playing and do you remember your first guitar?
I started around 9 years old on an Nylon Acoustic guitar. I got my first electric guitar for my 13th birthday, that’s when things started.

What are your influences and which guitar players are your faves?
All kinds of music but in the end it all goes back to the blues. Metal, Punk, Rock´n´roll – it’s all interpretation and development out of the Blues. My favourite Guitar Players? J. Frusciante, Jack White, Stevie Ray Vaughan & Prince I guess.

How many guitars do you own and what are your favorite models?
Around 19. Way too much. I’m in love with Fender guitars. At the moment I play a TeleCaster for any project I play with, may it be Metal with Dust Bolt, or Punk or Blues, Grunge, Jam Sessions – whatever. It works – I love the neck , it sounds good and it’s a working machine. I also own 3 or 4 Jackson Guitars, a Fender Jazzmaster, a cheap Strat, a Duesenberg & a Les Paul Studio. Plus a bunch of other stuff of course. Nearly all of my guitars are bought used. I don’t like those new instruments coming straight from the factory too much. I sometimes feel like they’re missing a soul. I prefer old and beat down instruments with character.

What do you think makes the perfect guitar and amp?
That doesn’t exist. It´s all in your fingers & heart. Guitars and amps are just tools to tell your story and get your message across. Anything works for that, if it works for you. No rules.

How do you feel about the question of modeler or tube amp?
I actually don’t care. Give me a guitar and turn up the amp. Let’s jam.

Which guitars and amps were used on the new album or for recordings?
For most of the songs I played my quite beat down Fender Telecaster again. Standard Pickups. I don’t even know what they’re called. Into a peavey 6505, combined with a Fender Deville and a Tubescreamer of course. We also tried out some ENGL & some Marshall Amps. Flo, our other guitar player, uses a Gibson Explorer that worked great with the Marshall. I think in the end there actually ended up a lot of Marshall in the Mix, even though we didn’t really intend that.

When you only can choose one guitar, which one will you take?
My telecaster. For sure.
