When you start guitar playing and do you remember your first guitar?
I started playing the guitar when I was 14 years old. I remember my first guitar very well. It was a blue Charvette. I still have it somewhere. Non playable though.
What are your influences and which guitar players are your faves?
A few of my first influences was Adrian Smith, George Lynch, Nuno Bettencourt and Joe Satriani. And Brett Garsed of course. Favorite guitar players is a tough one. There are so many. Andy Timmons have always been a favorite with his incredible feel. Marco Sfogli is another amazing guitarist.
How many guitars do you own and what are your favorite models?
I have ten guitars I believe. I really like the tele and strat models but occasionally I play my les paul which is also nice.
What do you think makes the perfect guitar and amp?
I honestly don’t know. As long as I can get some nice sustain out of my gear im usually good to go.
How do you feel about the question of modeler or tube amp?
I could use a modeler as well as a tube amp. As long as it feels right. Most of the times I think you can`t tell the difference.
Which guitars and amps were used on the new album or for recordings?
The guitars we used were Chapman ML3 Pro Bea, Radiant Singlecut Custom from Mozer and my old strat. We used mostly Neural DSP plugins. And some reamping were done.
When you only can choose one guitar, which one will you take?
I’ll pick my Strat. We’re old mates who go way back.
