When did you start guitar playing, and do you remember your first guitar?
I started playing guitar around 13 years old, I definitely remember my first real guitar was my BCRich Mockingbird, I worked a year at a car wash to buy it from Hollywood Guitars on Sunset. I still play that guitar today.
What are your influences, and which guitar players are your favs?
Have so many it’s tough, I typically have 1 or 2 for each genre. Hendrix, Page, Malmsteen, EVH are some of my all-time favorites.
How many guitars do you own, and what are your favorite models?
I own about 9-10 guitars. My favorite 4 in order Jim Root Telecaster, Charvel Strat, ESP 1000, Ibanez 7 string.
What do you think makes the perfect amp?
Big fat hot tubes EL34’s or L6’s tubes.
How do you feel about the question of modeler or tube amp?
Modelers are not my gig, I live by tube amps yet I love the UA OX this allows me to crank my amps at home and dampen the volume, use all kinds of mic and cabinet models, which has improved my home recording tracks tenfold.
Which guitars and amps were used on the new album or for recordings?
1974 Marshall JMP 50 and a Morgan PX50
When you only can choose one guitar, which one will you take?
Telecaster „Jim Root“ Model. Every time!!!!
