A reverse headstock increases the elasticity or stretch (not the actual tension, as many players believe) of the low strings, making them more stable in tune and preventing vibration. Many guitarists find guitars with reversed headstocks easier to play than those with standard headstocks once they’ve adjusted to the change in string elasticity.
