Knivad don’t just play crust D-beat — they weaponize it.

Formed in Gothenburg, Sweden, the band fuse the intensity of hardcore punk with the suffocating weight of extreme metal, creating songs that feel less like compositions and more like open wounds.

Since their inception, Knivad have fixated on humanity’s instinct for self-destruction and the slow collapse of modern society. Their sound swings violently between blistering aggression and suffocating melancholy, merging hardcore crust, D-beat chaos, and raw metallic heaviness into something as punishing as it is cathartic. Lyrically, the band draw heavily from real-world trauma and existential decay, forcing listeners to confront the ugliness most would rather ignore. In Knivad’s world, society is a festering wound — and mankind is the blade digging ever deeper into it.

This album (Lilla vackra människa) may be the band’s most harrowing statement yet. Stripping away any remaining distance between art and reality, Knivad dive headfirst into themes of mortality, psychological collapse, grief, and the exhausting burden of existence itself.

„This is without a doubt the most personal album we’ve ever created. An album about life. And about death. About the eternal struggle of feeling forced to continue existing while knowing that even the love from others is not always enough to make you want to stay — yet, for their sake, it somehow still has to go on.“

„It’s about trying to survive while the disease keeps tearing everything apart. About helplessness. Fear. Watching people disappear and being left behind with memories, questions, and silence. We dug deeper into ourselves than ever before making this record — deeper into the places where ruin begins. Knivad has never stood closer to the edge.“

Stay tuned. And maybe start learning how to tie a noose.
